Musical lighting is different than theoretical lighting. Want to improve the “Wow” factor of your next gig? It is the designer’s responsibility to provide the mood for each individual number. This is achieved by using a wide variety of fixtures (i.e. Ellipsoidals, Pars, and Scrollers) as well as fog/haze to produce lighting beams. Beams, back lighting, and color, add accent and effect for an enjoyable show. The better the lighting, the better the show! People remember the songs by how it was lit without even realizing it. For example, a slow, intimate song is lit using blues, purples, and reds with the band being highlighted in white.

Our theatre and entertainment experience came from working as designers and board operators at the Sight and Sound Millennium Theatre -- the largest professional Christian theatre in the United States – located in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. The theatre consists of a 300’ wrap around stage, 40’ lighting trims and over 1500 fixtures. The lighting plots for each production included multiple moving light fixtures, such as Clay Paky, Studio Colors, Studio Spots, and Intellibeams, as well as various ETC stationary lights, such as the Source Four 5°, 10°, etc. Other experience has been in the music industry working with bands, preparing for individual gigs or week long tours. In the Fall of 2006, a lighting design was finished for a DVD recording for a future production in Branson, Missouri.
